Nederlands Kamerkoor

Visual identity

The world-renowned Nederlands Kamerkoor (Netherlands Chamber Choir) recently celebrated its 80th anniversary. A good reason to re-examine the brand. Our challenge was: ‘How do you give sound an image?’

We aimed for a style that would be able to match the choir’s unbelievably wide-ranging repertoire, from baroque to post-modern experimental music. When you listen to the Netherlands Chamber Choir with your eyes closed, you can almost see the sound waves dancing before you. This was our point of departure. We wanted to remain as close as possible to the emotion evoked by the music, the voices and the singers. This is why the singers themselves play the main role in all images. The logo functions as an anchor for this multifaceted imagery.
