Visual identity

The Dutch Foundation of Botanical Gardens (NVBT) asked us to create an  identity and campaign for the joint activities of the 24 botanical gardens in the Netherlands, which each has its very own, incomparable identity.

The new brand ‘Hortus Botanic Guardians’ we developed in association with Globrands and TheBrandHotel is an ingredient brand for all 24 botanical gardens. A brand people can connect with. And above all, a coalition open for other parties. Parties that not only sympathise, but also affirm that conserving biodiversity is part of their purpose. For brands and products that care for plants and their habitat, and for whom preserving biodiversity is a USP.

In 2017, all 24 bundled their energies and present themselves as Hortus Botanic Guardians: gatekeepers and protectors of biodiversity. The mock-ups of products with Hortus endorsement function as a discussion piece for brands. It helps encourage them to join the campaign and become a Botanic Guardian as well.
